At Widex (Widex A/S and all its subsidiaries within the European Economic Area), we recognise and respect the privacy of everybody who entrusts us with personal data.

We will only process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable law to which we are subject, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and national data protection laws (altogether " Data Protection Legislation"). 

THE COVERAGE OF THIS PRIVACY NOTICE
This Privacy Notice applies only to the collection and processing of personal data on our websites. If you are interacting with one of our companies or shops in another way – e.g. as a user of one of our products or as a participant in an one-off survey – please refer to the information which was made available to you at the point of collection or by other appropriate means.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT AND HOW WE COLLECT IT
You may always visit and use our websites without actively providing us with any personal data, but we do have a few optional services that require you to register. The type of personal data we collect will depend upon the interaction you have with us and the specific services you use or ask us to provide. In general, it will be your contact details, incl. your name, email and postal address. We may also collect sensitive personal data about your health if you actively provide it to us. Finally, we do also collect personal data about you during your journey on our websites by the use of cookies and similar techniques. Please see our separate Cookie Policy for further details.

OUR PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
When you use one of our contact forms to provide personal data to us, you give us your consent to use your personal data to contact you, deliver the service you requested or reply to your question (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)).

When you request to have the results of an online hearing test sent to you by email, we rely on your consent in order to send this information to the email address you have provided (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)). We delete your test results as soon as we have sent them to the email address you have provided. Widex never discloses online hearing tests results to anyone but you. You also always have the possibility to take a hearing test on our website without providing any identifying details.

You can always withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data by contacting us using the details below, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing that we have carried out until then.When you ask us to contact you or to put you in contact with a Hearing Care Professional, we consider that you have requested us to take steps that could lead to the conclusion of a contract with a Hearing Care Professional (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). In such cases, we use your personal data to facilitate the establishment of a relationship between you and a Hearing Care Professional, and disclose your contact details to the Hearing Care Professional of your choice or to one located close to the address you have indicated.

When you actively express an interest in Widex products or services (e.g. when you request to be contacted by a Hearing Care Professional or subscribe to a newsletter), we may use and retain some of your personal data for direct marketing purposes and to assess the effectiveness of our efforts in getting you as a client, which we regard as being in our legitimate interest as a commercial undertaking (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

We collect and store technical data regarding your use of our websites in order to maintain, protect and improve our websites, which we regard as being in our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

WHO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH
We only share your personal data with others to the extent necessary and in accordance with applicable law and regulations. We exchange personal data amongst relevant companies within Widex where it is necessary for us to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.

We may disclose your personal data to external service providers acting on strict instructions from us for technical support, to evaluate the usefulness of our websites or for other types of administrative or technical services which are carried out in the course of our business activities. Such external service providers will not process or disclose your personal data for their own purposes, and Widex ensures that they offer sufficient guarantees with respect to the security and confidentiality of the personal data which they may be given access to.

We disclose your contact details to an external Hearing Care Professional close to the location indicated by you when you have specifically requested to be contacted by a Hearing Care Professional.

We may share some information regarding your device or website use with external service providers for analytical purposes by means of cookies or similar techniques. We only share such information if you accept the use of cookies. You can opt-out at any time, and for further information please refer to our Cookie Policy.

TRANSFER OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA 
We may transfer the personal data we collect about you to recipients established outside the European Economic Area. We ensure that we comply with the applicable legal requirements when transferring personal data outside the European Economic Area and use the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission or any other contractual agreement approved by the competent authorities. 

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA 
We only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the data was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. 

The health data that we collect about you when you take an online hearing test in case you have requested us to send you the results by email, is deleted immediately after the email was sent to the address you provided. Widex never discloses online hearing tests results to anyone but you. 
When you actively express an interest in Widex products or services (e.g. when you request to be contacted by a Hearing Care Professional or subscribe to a newsletter), we may retain your contact details for direct marketing purposes. You may ask us at any time to stop sending such communications or unsubscribe from our distribution lists. In such cases, we will stop sending you marketing communications and immediately delete your contact details, unless we need it to fulfil a contract with you for the delivery of one of our services. 

We retain all other personal data obtained on our websites for a maximum of three months, so as to enable us to ensure follow-up on your requests and to monitor the functioning of our websites. 

YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA SUBJECT

Under certain circumstances, you have the right to:

a) Request access to your personal information. This enables you to receive details of our processing of your personal information and a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

b) Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you, when this information is incomplete or inaccurate.

c) Request erasure of your personal information where there is no good reason for us to carry on processing it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have objected to our processing (see below).

d) Object to the processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and you consider that, in your particular situation, our use of your data is not justified. In such cases, we will stop processing your personal information, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds for carrying on. You can at any time object to our use of your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

e) Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you while we establish whether there are grounds for correcting or deleting your data, or when you want us to keep your data that should be deleted. 

f) Request the transfer of your personal information to another party, provided the data processing is automated, you have the right to receive a copy of the data you have provided in a machine-readable format (also known as data portability).
